Mow higher, not less often
We raise the cutting height slightly during heavy rain months. Taller grass handles waterlogged soil better and shades out weed seedlings before they establish.
Hold off on fertilizing after heavy rain
Fertilizer applied right before a downpour mostly washes away and can run into drains. We time feeding for drier windows in the forecast instead of a fixed calendar date.
Check drainage lines before the season starts
Blocked drains turn a lawn into a swamp within a week of steady rain. A pre-monsoon check of channel drains and slopes is part of every AMC we run.
Watch for fungal patches early
- Check for circular brown or yellow patches weekly
- Improve airflow by trimming nearby overgrown shrubs
- Treat early — fungal issues spread fast in humidity
